: James... how do you keep the brushes suspended in the oil as to avoid bending them out of shape?
It is not a problem to leave the bristle brushes resting in the coffee can touching the bottom. For the small sables and nylon brushes, I suspend those in one of those spring brush holders. You might also just use a small spring clip to hold these softer brushes on the edge of the coffee can so that they do not touch the bottom. I am glad that at least you are taking my suggestion to preserve brushes in vegetable oil seriously. If you have luck with this method please report back to the forum and tell Rob that I am not such a crackpot after all. Remember to squeeze out the veg oil into a paper towel thoroughly before recommencing to paint. If there is still too much paint in the brush, redip it in the oil and clean it again on the towel.
