Actually, I think they have!! :-)
I just use Castile soap with warm water, twirl the brush in my palm to open
it up and I never have any problems (BUT I seldom get paint up into the ferrule).
Most of my brushes are 10 to 15 years old, some I inherited which had to be
purchased in the late forties - the handles are a bit shot but the hairs are
good!
