: I am just getting started with oil paints, never used them before, and my
brushes are being destroyed by them.If anyone can help me out here please do.

Tupentine does ruin brushes, unfortunatly, it is an integral part of oil painting. Try using a mixture of Murphys Oil Soap (or any brand) and water when you are done. Rinse in turp to loosen the paint, then wash in oil soap. Gently squeeze the brush back to shape. I have saved many a brush that way. They come out like new instead of looking like they were plugged into a light socket!
