Stand oil is not partially polymerized because it is made with the absence of oxygen. Polymerized oils have a different molecular weight than do raw oils because they are picking up oxygen. Stand oil has had the molecular structure altered without any change in molecular weight.

Sun-thickened oil is partially polymerized and that's why it darkens as it ages.
