" Will you pass on his current position, that meglip is maroger without lead drier? "
Sorry for the late answer, Stump, but i have just seen your . My computer do not keep track of the read and unread s, so it is difficult to keep track of everything.
In fact, I had never used maroger before Cennini maroger, except for L&B flemmish
medium, which is unworkable. I have used it since 6 month approximately. So,
as you can see, I certainly do not pretend to be a maroger expert. Like you,
I have asked what is the difference between maroger and megilp, and i am still
not sure. I do not know which forum you are talking about, but i may have simply
repeat what i have learned from Rob to someone asking what is megilp or something
like that. I surely did not answer as a big expert but probably to give some
insight from what I have learned. I have painted for 21 years now, but without
this stuff, so I can hardly take position on the archival properties of maroger.
I can say however that it works really well, that the paint film is supple and
resistant. It do not peel like mister Morton experienced. It really seems to
be fine to date.
It is invaluable if you want to work in layers at a fast pace, day after day.
In fact, I love it for the first layers. Of course, alkyds do that, but do not
handle near as well as maroger. That's what I can say from my personal experience
for now.
