My advice is to take his advice if you want to feel secure. Thus far, the methods suggested guarantee me an open field with less competition. Anyone who removes themselves from the list of my competitors is to be encouraged. Listen to the conservators. It's like taking the advice of an embalmer on what you should eat to stay healthy.

Making a painting requires the painter to be alive. Restoring a painting means that the painter is dead. I'm not convinced that s from beyond the grave are useful in teacjing us how to apply paint in an artistic fashion. However, they are useful to people who are concerned with technical aspects of paint...like the paint chemists as Sherwin_Williams and Sears.
