>>>I take it from your remarks that PVA would suffice to glue canvas to a board (plywood or something similar), but RB glue is best for actually sizing the canvas? ____________________________________________________
I have had very good luck with using rabbitskin glue for both adhering linen to a board and for sizing. I don't know how PVA glue will hold up and I can't see any reason to first adhere the line with PVA and then size it with bunny glue. The advantage of any hide glue lies in the gels ability to "suck" joints together. Cabinet makers prefer it because they make 'rubbed joints' in which the glue gels as they rub them together and you can feel the joint sucking together. PVA glue does not do that because it does not gel. That sucking effect is particularly useful when adhering linen to a board because it holds it against the board and does not allow any buckling or air bubbles
