the best thing is only linseed oil and rectified turps, non of that turpenoid crap. ALLLways linseed oil that has the color of straw and smells sweet. AS for glazing, try using a little amount of venetian turps, but remember you only want a membrane not a candy coated gloppy guup mess. always lean to fat and ty not to use any vehicles in the underpainting because the tubed paint already contains alot of oil.
