The best way to clean a brush is first to wash off in mineral spirits or rectified turps(however if you are using sable brushes or badger hair, just wash off in a diluted solution of linseed oil and turps then follow to step two)then you use Murphys Oil with sables you may want to follow up with a light coat of olive oil or baby oil to keep em soft.
