Re: drying oil paints quickly!!!!! HELP!!
: : I am doing a school project using oil paints and i have done the first few layers but now need to do others without them smuging together. Is there anyway that I can speed up the drying process of the part already painted, or is there anything I can add to the paint prior to painting to help? And on average how long does oil paint take to dry?

Either Cobalt Dryer or Japan Dryer added to your painting medium and mixed with your paint will accelerate drying. It's generally accepted that added in small amounts these dryers will not adversely affect the longevity of your artwork, however, if longevity is not a concern, add as much as you need to accomplish your objective. I've used fairly large amounts of Japan Dryer on illustrations without any noticable problems.
