Verdigris is still available - one source is www.sinopia.com. Modern research suggests that verdigris is much more permanent than has been suggested, but there are certain rules for its use. For instance, it must never be mixed with, or come into contact with vermillion. I don't know all of the in's and out's of using verdigris, but you can find the information you need in any number of books on pigments.
