I once inadvertantly did the following. Before applying the final finish I let it dry outdoors in a dust free area in the fresh air (not full sun)as much as the weather allowed. And then did the same after the final varnish. The results were much more satisfying than when I used my wife's hair dryer which gives an awfully concentrated dose of localized heat.
