I don't think that listening to classical music is universally regarded as a prerequisite to painting, although some people (mostly psychologists) believe that listening to contrapuntal music like Mozart and especially Bach may enhance spacial thinking while you're listening to it. You might just want to listen to a classical radio station while you paint. That way you don't have to interrupt your work to change CDs. Keep painting and drawing! You'll thank yourself later.: The free onlne art lesson says to learn to enjoy classical music, which composers are most preferred by painters? Or is it purely a matter of taste?
