: I cannot say that those two painters would be at the top of my list for painting the effects of light. For superb examples, study the works of Georges de la Tour. He knew how to do it. Of course, he also paints figures rather than easily drawn little boxes covered with vines, so his approach will be more difficult than Kincaide or Bob Ross, but it's worth a try if you are really interested in learning how to create the feeling of light. Another great master of depicting light in nature is J.M.W.Turner. Perhaps the thing that sets de la Tour and Turner apart is that they also depict atmosphere.
