Hi, Emily. Try “How to Paint Like the Old Masters” by Joesph Sheppard, which,h can be found on Amazon. While the techniques he describes must be tken with grain of salt (no such thing as “old master secrets”), he discuesses how drawing is foundational to painting, a subject glossed over by many other writers who often treat painting like decorating: “This color goes with this, etc.”

You just got the Howard treatment. Fact is, all poserts on his forum are anomoyus---you don’t have to supply an email or register. This forum requires an email. Mine is valid: many of Mr. Howard’s friends’ are not. Talk about anoymus.

His forum, like this one, has much good information from artists of all types---if you can get past his self-indulgence, and boosterism for the products he sells.
