: Does anyone have any expertise regarding oil painting on copper, especially if one needs to prime the surface first. What happens if you paint directly onto the copper, and how durable is the painting afterwards? Thanks for any help. Beth
Paint directly on the copper after you have polished it and washed it with vinegar
and dried it. Use only oils, not any water-based paints. It is very durable.
