Bri,
I envy your job drawing internal horse muscles (but, then again, I frequently
envy people who clean stables).
I seem to recall that some of the earliest attempts at cinematography consisted
of a string of snapshots of galloping horses. They must have been shot on some
sort of treadmill. They are not extremely clear photographs but they do a good
job of showing what the horse looks like at any given point in a galloping sequence.
In fact, I believe this was the fist time that the gallop was understood (something
about the position of the legs and being completely airborne at one stage of
the sequence). You probably won't find a video unless you locate one of those
things that flip through the photos as you crank a handle, but I'm sure you
can find books that show the photo sequences. Happy trails.
: : I want to know everything about horses for painting, specially its anatomi.:
Can you give me more informations obout that??**************************************************
I am working from Stubbs' book presently and it has been helpful. I am stuck
drawing horses again...YUK, but it's paying the rent. I have to do cut away
views of internal muscles...YIPEE!!!DRAWING horses beats MUCKING stalls though.
Of course, observing horses helps too. I wonder if there are videos that one
can rent that show the horse in motion... bri on a pale horse
