Re: dry paint
: : : This may sound like a stupid question, but here goes..
: : : How do you know if your paint is dry...for glazes, next stages etc....
Is it really necessary to wait six months before a final glaze? If not then
how do you decide?...Mine feel dry less than a week after painting them...but...???

: : The six month waiting period is for the final varnish of the painting to
protect it. For glazes, it's just a matter of dry to the touch - sometimes 'the
drier the better' depending on your glazing medium, if it has too much turp
and you're heavy handed, you can lift the layer of paint your glazing over.
