Yes, the Golden Section was an arrangement of the
subject s in the painting to form a triangle or some-
times a pyramid. For example the painting da Vinci's
St. Mary with child, clearly displays a linear equivalence
to a triangle. It was used widley in the Italian Renaiss-
ance even up into post-impressionists such as van Gogh.
