i need to find out who bottechelli was up against

i am doing an art assignment and i wrote bottechelli was a florentine painter who had little influence outside his native city.

my teacher eants to know who were the artists he was up against and who were other artists that painted the same things like humanism and mythologicl religious scenes.
if you can send me anything to help i would appriciat that very much.
