Dropped EF100-400L

Hey guys.

I manage to dropped my day old EF100-400L today :(

Luckily I think all that broke was the filter I had on it. The problem is that the filter ring is now dented and thus whats left of the old filter is now jammed on the lens. Any ideas on how to get it off?

Also, should I be worried about getting glass particles into the lens itself or is it pretty much sealed? Any possibility of other damage I cant see? The IS and focusing still seem to work ok.
