Hi, I think i would help you to know .
He painted over wood, covered with glue- gipsum gesso. The drawing was made with brown water based kolor. then he used brown egg tempera for his shadows, ochra for the middle tones and white egg tempera for modelating the highlits. Then he covered this underpainting with mastix varnish and then glazed .The medium of his glazes was balsam made from white pine and half part of sun thickened nut-oil . The main higlihts he painted over it with white egg tempera wet in wet. Then he glazed again. that,s all!
