the worst you can do is add some drying substant into your oilpaint, cause later on your paint will crack very heavely and maybe fall off. The problem is not realy a problem of drying but a problem of using not the wright vehicles or mediums. Always paint from lean to fat, so start with only terpentine, then use a mixer with dammar resin, next you use dammar resin with some fine linseed oil, next some more linseed oil, next you can use stand oil and so on and on. Once the layer feel dry, you should wait , thats what they did in old times, for about six months to one year.
So this means that you have to paint rather full speed instead of first gear, be sure of what you do,and paint as much as you can wet in wet using the different vehicles. Don't try to finishes your rocks in the first layer, they should be finished at the end paint your painting allover instaid of first this piece and then that piece and so on
