1/ Ink in your sketch, put down a wash of burnt umber .
2 / Paint your figure in a mid tone gray , then add highlights .. blend them .
3/ repeat process adding vermilion etc.
4/ use medium with your skin tones to gain a semi transparent finish and paint onto figure.
