Hi Sarah,

I've been familiar with Allen Banks for a couple of years and the "naturalist" style they are talking about is his painting of people "en plen aire" and among nature. All of the landscape masters and some of the portrait painters worked on-site or outside. However, Allen has combined his portraits with outside themes and has produced some wonderful paintings.
