There is more to just painting a face that what color. The value you start your painting off with is more important. Make sure that the first color you put on is absolutely the right value, or how light or dark it is. Place the first darkest accent on the portrait (example - black), then place the lightest light on the canvas (the lightest area, typically the light source or lightes part of a white blouse or whatever. Get these correct and judge all parts of the painting against these two areas. Good luck gary.Tom j f
