paint darkening and beeding up

I'm having two problems with the paint when it dries:

1- It dries darker than the value I put down. Is there any way to avoid this? It is especially troublesome when I touch up a smooth area, then come back the next day and find little dark patches where I worked.

2- When I try to glaze, in certain areas the paint resists the ground layer and beeds up. I am using cold pressed linseed oil for my medium, and mostly winsor newton and old holland paint. Thanks for listening,
Aron
