Lean over Fat

Yes, you need to be careful. If you are concerned about the paint cracking you need to follow the "fat over lean" rule. A good rule of thumb is that all painting mediums are considered fat. You can go to the Gamblin web site (www.gamblincolors.com) for a listing of oil colors and if they are lean or fat and painting mediums you may want to consider. You may want to consider some other alternatives if you are concerned about sealing colors or shine of your paintings
