19th century american landscape painters

Does anybody have a clue on finding some (concrete,detailed
information)literature or website for F.E. Church,Cropsey,other
hudson river school painters actual painting methods? I have not found (through many countless hours of searching)any well informed source with this specific information.I do not mean
superficial stuff like "i think he used Maroger medium".I'm looking
for a real source of information with substance.
