We have been fortunate to receive a set of 14 Stations of the Cross painted on copper. The paintings are oil and date from the late 1800s or early 1900s.
At one time they were framed.
We are now in the process of framing them to put on the walls of the Church.
We will use a linen liner.
The question is: "whether or not to put glass over the oil paintings in the frame."
Any advice, suggestions would be appreciated. We know that as a rule of thumb, you do not generally put glass over oil paintings.
Thanks so much.
