I recently bought an old oil painting at a flea market for a very good price. It needs to be cleaned. How can I do this?

: nancy: it depends why it needs to be cleaned. surface dirt or old varnish. different methods different solvents. if the piece is good or you think its valuable take it to a restoration expert. home made cleaning agents cause more harm than good. i am a conserator and i restore oil paintings. unless you know what you are doing you will!!!!!!!! ruin your flea market find.
