I have used the recipe given in Ralph Mayer's handbook for years with good success.

According to Mayer it is important to use a true gum turp instead of mineral spirits because MS do not combine well with Dammar.

Stand Oil 1 oz
Dammar 1 oz
Turp 5 oz
Cobalt Dryer 15 drops
