Pls help me. posted by jvermeer on 11/05/01 at 4:30 AM: Then what do you do if you are accustomed to painting everyday? Certainly linseed oil would do nothing but build up residue on the brush day after day. Not only that, but the bristles in the ferrel of the brush would never get cleaned. That's where most of the damage is done to paintbrushes. I recommend dipping the brush in solvents; wiping off the excess with a rag; and use plain old dishwashing liquid (Dawn or Palmolive) to thoroughly wash the brush, making sure to mash the bristles in the palm of your hand in order to get the paint out of the ferrel of the brush (where the bristles are stamped into the metal). |
