fat over lean

Greetings "fellow oilers",

I've never taken an oil painting class and am curious about the correct amounts of medium to add per layer to properly follow the "fat over lean" rule.

For a painting with an acrylic base and three layers of oils, approximately how much linseed oil should be added to each layer?
