I so agree with you. I sometimes feel that conceptual art has gone too far. People are sheep and tend to just go with the flow. I am of the opinion that only a tiny percentage of the people that claim to be conceptual art enthusiasts really do enjoy it. The rest of them just want be seen doing what, in the eyes of the art community, is ‘in’ and ‘trendy’ and fashionable. Everyone is buying into the hype, hopping on the bandwagon, and the so-called artists are jumping out of their unmade beds and laughing all the way to the bank.
If people like Tracy Emin can do it, so can I. I’m sure though if I took a picture of my bedroom, which also happens to be a tip, and sent it to Mr Saatchi, he’d have a good laugh at my expense.
