Drawing is something which is inate to the human / primate psyche. Its basis is the urge to communicate with our fellows which begins at birth, eg.. just put a crayon in the hand of a 6 month old newborn and see what happens, it will begin to explore what it can do. Everybody can draw, but excellence in technique comes from practice, experience and the teachings of experts. GOOD pencilwork is, in my opinion the single-most exacting medium to work in, and often the most frustrating, but once technique(s) are adequately mastered, it is also by far the most rewarding.
