: Is Holbein lying? Or, do they ship just cadmium versions to Canada?
--according to the label, if I recall, it said mercuric sulphide only, but I emailed Holbein since it (Chinese) seemed too good to be true (real vermilion here?), and in their reply they stated that there is no adulteration/wax/calcium carb. (of course they'd say that) but that there was a fair percentage of Cadmium.
I do have some good news, one of the suppliers here in Toronto told me yesterday that any of the funky stuff I want (basic lead pigment, vermilion, orpiment/realger/emerald green all the good and deadly stuff!) some of it she may be able to order for me, but she is not allowed to put it on the shelves because of the health labels...a loophole, perchance? shawn gibson
